As time continues to pass and the world grows more violent daily, my mind constantly wanders back to times that were slower and more peaceful.
For a good portion of my childhood from around 1968 to 1978, my parents owned 130 acres of mountain land along the “Greasey Creek” of Carrol County in Southwestern Virginia. Every weekend my sister, Caroline, and I were loaded into the old suburban and taken off to a place we couldn’t full appreciate at the time.
