Memories of things past but not yet forgotten...

As time continues to pass and the world grows more violent daily, my mind constantly wanders back to times that were slower and more peaceful.
For a good portion of my childhood from around 1968 to 1978, my parents owned 130 acres of mountain land along the “Greasey Creek” of Carrol County in Southwestern Virginia. Every weekend my sister, Caroline, and I were loaded into the old suburban and taken off to a place we couldn’t full appreciate at the time. Imaginations ran wild, daily adventures turned up treasures and nights were spent cozily by the fire or playing games after a delicious meal lovingly prepared on an old wood burning stove…
